PROPERTIES

This is a very simple recipe that can be very helpful to ease one of the most frequent intestinal disorders which is diarrhea. Rice is a cereal which comes from the ‘grass family’, and is the base of diets in many populations. There are hundreds of varieties of rice that are distinguished by shape, size and nutritional properties (arborio, basmati, integral, black, parboiled, red, etc.).

Basmati rice is characterized by a long and thin shape. From a nutritional point of view, it has a reduced fat and sodium content and glycaemic index. As a result, it is indicated for diabetics. The low fiber content and high starch content make it an excellent food to contrast diarrhea and improve the digestive system.

Cloves, in addition to giving aroma to the dish, have some important properties. Due to the high presence of polyphenols, they are a powerful natural antioxidant. This spice has also analgesic and antiseptic properties thanks to a substance called eugenol. It helps to reduce the sense of pain and to fight infections. Cloves also contain another substance called, beta-caryophyllenewhich works as a painkiller. They are a source of vitamins (vitamin K, vitamin B6, vitamin B1, vitamin C and riboflavinand mineral salts (zinc, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, manganese, potassium).
