Each cancer patient presents different and complex clinical problems depending on the pathology.

The Oncology and Food Association was born from the awareness of the needs of the cancer patient.

Salvatore Artale, Director of the S.C. of Medical Oncology of the Hospitals of Vimercate, Desio, Carate Brianza, ASST Brianza, sensitized by the criticality of cancer patients concerning the side effects of drugs, the request for a personalized diet to deal with the therapies, the need to adopt a lifestyle aimed at improve the general state of health, takes care of his patients going beyond the clinical and therapeutic aspects, responding to their needs to improve the management of daily life.

Thus was born, in December 2016, the Oncology and Food Association, the website dedicated to care integration programs for the prevention and control of the side effects of drugs derived from oncological therapies.

The Association first became an ONLUS in February 2017, then APS (Social Promotion Association) in November 2019, and today an Association ODV that makes use of the skills of dedicated professional figures: nutritionist biologist, chef, genetic biologist and scientific coordinator, to guide patients through easy navigation on our online site, looking for the principles that regulate a healthy diet with the help of recipes useful for the control of some symptoms related to oncological therapies. Nutritional advice integrates, without ever replacing, with conventional medical treatments commonly used.

The mission of this project is the creation of a site that virtually represents the path that the patient takes in everyday clinical reality.

The site offers the patient the immediate possibility of finding some answers to their needs, participating in events that make them feel part of a group and not an isolated entity seeking help.

The main objective is to achieve 100% adherence to the oncological medical treatments offered to each individual patient.
